## History
A vibrant Catholic community has existed in the Cumberland area for more than 150 years. The first chapel was blessed by the bishop in 1862 and served the growing Catholic population until destroyed by fire in 1866. St. Margaret Mary Church opened on the current site in 1951. On July 1, 2018 St. Margaret Mary amalgamated with St. Edith Stein Parish, and on January 19, 2019 the combined parish was renamed St. Faustina Parish. A new church building is being raised at 2835 Old Montreal Road through the Soil to Sanctuary Capital Campaign.
